Did you know?
On a good day, a Modular Pumptrack can see over 6,000 laps completed. Peak visitor time is 15:45, and at weekends there is an additional surge of activity around 11:00.
Usage patterns are not always what you might expect. Overall activity from May to September, is not necessarily higher than in the winter months. For example, peak days have sometimes been measured in March or the end of October. Sundays are particularly sought after, but also Tuesday Peak days have been recorded in March and late October. During a touring programme in summer 2022, 200.000 laps were recorded across just a few months — a notable result by any measure.
How do we know?
Nobody stood at the track counting. Instead, a dedicated tool does the work, and it is one worth knowing about.
The Eco-COUNTER lap counter
The GPS-equipped counter is installed discreetly beneath one of the modules. No power connection is needed; the battery lasts for several years.
A clear online dashboard provides access to time-precise usage data at any point, along with downloadable reports for selected time periods.
Battery status and other operational information are also available at a glance.

What Is It Good For?
Even those who do not ordinarily reach for a spreadsheet will find the data genuinely useful. The lap counter provides the kind of evidence that supports real decisions:
- A basis for the initial purchase decision
- Supporting documentation for funding applications prior to purchase
- Frequency data: understanding when the track is most used
- Setting appropriate opening times
- Identifying which layout generates the most activity
- Comparing usage across different districts or locations
- Measuring visitor numbers at trade fairs and events
