What's it about?
The children's book „"Bikepacking Gang: The Bicycle License"“ The story follows ten-year-old Alpay, who moves from the city to the countryside with his father, Tolgay. The fresh start is initially difficult: an unfamiliar school, a lack of friends, and the self-proclaimed "Halfpipe Hyenas" make settling in challenging. But he soon meets Tilde Petersen and Timothy "Timo" Green. Together, the three form the Bikepacking Gang. While they prepare for their cycling proficiency tests, Alpay helps his friend Timo overcome his insecurity on a bike. Together, they experience their first adventures and learn the importance of teamwork, courage, and friendship.

Learning through play, from an early age
The series focuses on exciting adventures centered around friendship, nature, and discovering the world on two wheels. At the same time, it imparts age-appropriate knowledge about bicycle technology, road safety, and respecting nature. Each volume concludes with an activity section that builds on the text and offers practical tips and exercises for children's own cycling adventures – from traffic rules and safe braking to orientation and how to behave in changing weather conditions.

With „"Bikepacking Gang: The Bicycle License"“, which is at September 8, 2026 Published by longdistanceMEDIA, a new children's book series is launching, aiming to inspire primary school children to take up cycling. Under the motto... „"Bikepacking Gang – Getting kids on bikes!"“ A total of ten volumes are planned. They will be written by Eva Doschek and Stefan Barth, with illustrations by Luise Wüstling.
